June the 28th 2025 is the UK Armed Forces Day and to show our support and appreciation to our Armed Forces community, we want to share with you some exciting developments.

Barnet Carers Centre has now signed the Armed Forces Covenant:

“A promise from the nation to those who serve or who have served, and their families, which says we will do all we can to ensure they are treated fairly and not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives”.

 In practical terms, this means:

  • Widening ways in which we identify carers with Armed Forces connections
  • Offering tailored support to those from the Armed Forces Community
  • Ensuring staff with military connections are offered flexible, remote working and short notice leave around operational needs
  • Ensuring staff across the organisation are aware of the needs of the Armed Forces Community

This is a significant step in our commitment to identify and support those of the Armed Forces community who have a caring role, or care for someone with veteran status. 2025 has marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, so it feels especially poignant that we have pledged our commitment to those who have and currently sacrifice so much in the defence of out freedom, safety and democracy.

If you or the person you care for currently serve or are a veteran of the Armed Forces, whether regular or reserve, please follow this link to our support page: Carers and Veterans support | Barnet Carers or do get in touch with Kirsty on 02039951909 or adultcarers@barnetcarers.org
