Thank you for your interest in receiving counselling with Barnet Carers Centre. Please complete the form below to request counselling.

By completing and submitting this document you declare that you understood and agreed with the following:

  • Counselling sessions are offered by telephone and face-to-face. Availability is limited.
  • You are expected to attend a total of 9 sessions – these will either be weekly or in agreement with a counsellor.
  • There is a charge of £12.00 per session. If you are in receipt of Carers Allowance your sessions will be free. If you feel you are unable to pay the fee for other reasons, please contact [email protected].
  • The £12 charge will be paid weekly at your appointment time.
  • The first appointment is an introduction to your Counsellor and the service.
  • The 9th and final session will be free.

Please note this service is not appropriate for you if:

  • You are already accessing counselling support elsewhere i.e. NHS, privately
  • You are experiencing severe emotional or psychological distress
  • Your are looking for bereavement support

Once completed this assessment form will be sent securely via email to the counselling supervisor and will be shared with the counsellor you have been paired with, this will support them to provide a person-centred experience based on your individual needs. We do not share your information with anybody else..

Cost of counselling

Volunteer counsellors staff our counselling service.  However, there are costs to the service including the administration of appointments, assessments and the professional supervision and support of our counsellors.  For this reason, we charge £12 per session (not including your last session which is free).

Anyone in receipt of Carers Allowance will be offered counselling free of charge.  If you cannot afford to pay for counselling for other reasons and are not in receipt of Carers Allowance, please contact us here.

We endeavour to maintain our service at low-cost – the average cost of counselling in London is currently over £60 per hour.
