Carers Week 2024 Putting Carers on the Map

Carers Week 2024
With a General Election coming up, this is an important time for carers, so the messages of Carers Week are even more important.
The organisations involved this year are calling on all political parties to commit to including specific policies in their manifestos that would lead to increased support and recognition for unpaid carers.
Specifically, we want all political parties to commit to:
- Developing a new, ambitious and funded National Carers Strategy
- Reforming and increasing the level of Carer’s Allowance
- Ensuring that all carers are able to take meaningful breaks
- Providing sustainable funding for social care
- Making the NHS the most carer-friendly healthcare service in the world
- Introducing two weeks of paid Carer’s Leave for working carers
- Investing in support to aid carers’ health and wellbeing
You can add your message about Carers in Barnet to our message wall below by emailing us here.

Carers Week Lunch
We are hoping for some sun so that we can have lunch on the terrace at our office on Thursday. We look forward to welcoming you for lunch and a good chat. (We do not have wheelchair access to our terrace so please let us know if you need support and we will re-consider the venue. We do have wheelchair access to our office). Because it is lunch, we would appreciate it if you could let us know whether you are coming so that we can make sure there is sufficient food! Please feel free to bring the person you care for as well. Please let us know you are coming here. If you have any dietary requirements, please do let us know.
