Do you work with carers?
Helping you to support carers
Do you work with carers? Do you want to help get them the best possible support? Professionals play a crucial role in supporting informal carers, who often face significant challenges in providing care.
On top of the advice and information that you can provide in the course of your own professional involvement with carers, you can connect carers with community and local resources and support services that can provide significant additional help.
That is where we come in…
A referral of a carer to Barnet Carers enables us to provide a great deal of local support including carer registration, a Carers Needs Assessment, a leisure pass, access to wellbeing services and other activities and individual support from our Adult Carers Support Team.
Our simple online referral process allows you to provide all of the information that we need to follow-up and start supporting the carer.
Meet the Team
Our team are experienced in carer support and may well be able to support you outside of the referral process. If you have a question, contact us and we will do our best to get you the answer.

What can you expect?
The referral process
Complete our online referral form
The form provides us with the information that we need to successfully contact the carer without them having to repeat information. You will be sent a copy of the referral by email for your records.
Referral is allocated to a Team member
Most of our referrals will be allocated to a specific and named team member so it will be easy for you to follow up the referral if needed.
Carer is contacted…
We aim to contact the carer within 5 working days of the referral although at busy times this may be longer. We will attempt to contact the carer up to 3 times. Please let us know within the referral if it can be difficult to contact the carer.
