You can discuss your caring role with adult social care at any point in the future if you need to. You can request a free Care Needs Assessment for the person you look after to determine if the local authority can provide you/the person you care for with any support. Depending on financial circumstances, they may be able to part or fully fund adaptations, disability aids, carers in the home or direct payments.
