Wednesday 1st October saw professionals and carers from across the borough meet at the fantastic Stephens House and Gardens for the Barnet Think Carer Seminar.  The idea behind the seminar was to showcase some of the huge amount of support that is available to carers (and the people they care for) across the borough.

Speakers from Adult Social Care, Age UK Barnet, Barnet CAB, Barnet Mencap and the North Central London Carers Project featured on the day, and there were also a selection of stands with even more information.

The audience also heard from Dawn Wakeling, Executive Director – Communities, Adults and Health at the borough.

At the end of the event we also marked the massive contribution that Michaela Carlowe has had on young carers in the borough.  Michaela is retiring in November and has been a champion for services supporting young carers.
