Thanks to all of you who joined us for this year’s Carers Rights Day.  Many of you joined us for our online talks about what support and information is available for you across Barnet from both Barnet Carers and many other organisations.

Carers Rights Day is an opportunity for us to talk about the contribution of carers and to make sure that carers are able to find out about what is available to them to help in their caring role.  This year, we were once again hampered by COVID but we did manage to hold a really lovely face-to-face meeting at our office in Finchley.

Carers joined us for two online information sessions and we were delighted to be joined by Dementia Club UK, Age UK Barnet and Healthwatch Barnet to tell us more about what they did to support carers in the borough.

We also had a group of carers join us for coffee and cake in Finchley.  It was absolutely brilliant to get together face-to-face.  What all of the carers agreed was that we needed more in-person meetings so we will be planning more of those in 2022 – COVID permitting.

The day finished off with a brilliant mindfulness session from Lucy at Presence of Mind.  These sessions are always very popular and this was no different.

Thank you all.  We look forward to Carers Rights Day 2022.
